Dyersburg High School soccer player David Grueser has been selected for the 18-man team for the Tennessee State Olympic Development Program.
The team will compete in the Southern Regional - which showcases some of the best players in the country - this summer at the University of Alabama.
Grueser, a member of the Jackson Wolves '91 squad, made the team for the second time.
"It is a great honor for him," Wolves coach Paul Conway said. "The best players in the state are selected, and this is his second year. We have a talented group of players. It shows the growing strength of the players in the area. David deserves the recognition."
Conway, the Lambuth men's head soccer coach, said the players from club teams are playing at a high level.
"They go to an elite level to prove they can play, not just the Wolves, or the (Olympic Development Program), but perhaps the collegiate level as well," Conway said. "The Wolves are looking at the younger kids, and we're excited about the kids we have in place. We have new speed and agility programs that expose the players to better coaching."
