| Our Athletes - The Jackson Soccer Club the most competitive soccer club between Memphis and Nashville. Our athletes come from Crockett, Dyer, Hardeman, Henry, Henderson, Haywood, Gibson, Weakley and other surrounding counties. They also come form Europe, Japan, South America, Mexico, and other countries. We value diversity (racial, regional, socio-economic, etc..) more than any organization in the region, in fact we depend on it.
As a Club we stress the importance of sportsmanship, respect, and education, and we have a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol.
Our Coaching - Our strength is in our coaches, who are some of the finest in the region. In fact, current and former coaches are state and national Olympic Development Program (ODP) coaches. Few have the honor to coach at this level, and even fewer in west Tennessee.
We have also had the great fortune of having a number of former professional athletes turned college students. Don’t let their charming Scottish, French, Irish, or even Canadian accents fool you. These coaches are serious about soccer, and will fine tune our athletes to levels of soccer that make you understand what people say when they talk about “the beautiful game.”
Our Values - The Jackson Soccer Club is committed to teaching our youth old fashioned values. Things like respect, commitment, dedication, leadership, work ethic, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Soccer is a very demanding sport that challenges the body and spirit. It takes a special kind of athlete to play at this level, an athlete that has heart and desire. Club soccer is not for every child, but for those that do stay the course, they will get an education of a lifetime.
Fees - No, club soccer is not recreational soccer, nor is it free. Our coaches are true professionals. This level of conditioning and training come at a modest cost. Our fees are typically half the cost of other clubs because we rely on volunteer professionals that perform the administrative tasks, from registration to fund raising,
For those making a team and joining the Club for the first time, a $150 assessment is required. This fee covers the cost of two first quality Adidas uniforms, socks, and a team equipment bag, as well as the Tennessee State Soccer Association registration requirement. Coaches fees, equipment, and other fees will be additional cost which is spread out over a four month semester. Tournaments are extra and determined by the coach and team manager.
The Jackson Soccer Club was founded in 1995 with one goal in mind, and that was to develop competitive soccer players and teams in the Jackson and surrounding communities. Our emphasis has always been to this end, but also to keep the fees affordable.
No, we are not a franchise, or a Memphis-based club. We are the ORIGINAL and the ONLY soccer club of Jackson, TN.
Our Board of Directors are volunteers from all walks of life, but they are from your own community. All of them are committed and have a passion for soccer.
Our coaching staff are all professionals. Many coaches are former professional athletes from all over the world. Others are area college or high school coaches, and some are college athletes. The Jackson Soccer Club has had former coaches like Richie Grant (University of Memphis), Clint Black (Christian Brothers University), and many others. The Club has also graduated a number of athletes that have gone forward to earn soccer scholarships. Or, like Andy Medcalf (a former Jackson Soccer Club standout), finish an outstanding college experience at the University of Memphis, and rostered as an MLS soccer team, and formerly with DC United.
